For now, it's mostly just a lot of reading. Looking for anything that might be helpful to know. Things that might reference to experiences we've had. Which book would be the easiest to reference for future occasions. Things like that.
It's necessary for our line of work. Knowing exactly how history remembers certain events... It's quite difficult to keep history on track if you don't know what happens..!

It's impossible to keep your enemies from changing things if you don't know how it's been recorded.
Their mission is to change time as we know it to their own benefit. Those of us who are able to follow them are tasked with not only defeating them but making sure history does not change too drastically from human memory.
As time passes, they've certainly become more sly in their tricks. Whoever leads them has learned quite well how to make our jobs harder than it already is.
